I have said this before, we all fight gravity everywhere! Over time, gravity exerts it force and cause the breast hang or sag. This can best quantified or seen by following the position of the nipple on the breast. Eventually, gravity will cause the nipples to point to the toes!
The goal of a breast lift is to raise the nipples and tighten the skin. Thus, creating a more youthful and perky breast. The different breast lift incision (around the nipple or peri-aerolar lift, vertical lift, and/or full a.k.a. inverted-“T”/anchor incision) depends on the position of the nipple and looseness of the skin. That is best determined after a consultation.
Sometimes, I will extend the breast lift if one of your goals is to remove the “side-breast” or “bra-roll”. Again, how far we need to extend the lift is best determined by a consultation.
